Ruby

This is Ruby, our Australian Shepherd. She’s our baby, our pride and joy. Ruby is 4 1/2 and is the best doggie anyone can ask for. She doesn’t have a chewing problem, barking problem or any obsessive compulsive tendencies.

In fact she is a certified therapy dog with Paws for People, a non-profit organisation we volunteer at. A therapy dog is a dog that’s been trained to provide love and affection to people in nursing homes, hospitals, disabled facilities and children homes. Ruby has got so much love to give that this is the perfect job for her.

Ruby knows basic obedience commands and does all sorts of tricks. This especially comes in handy when doing therapy work as people love to see her tricks and she loves performing for them!

Ruby knows how to sit, stay, down, stand, beg, speak, shake, wave, roll over, play dead and stand tall. Her favorite treat is a fresh carrot dipped in peanut butter.

When we finish a jar of peanut butter we give it to her to clean out. Here is a picture of her finishing up a jar. She really gets in there! As you can see she gets only the best. This Woolworth’s Organic Smooth Peanut Butter is better than the stuff I used to buy at Trader Joes.
